Creating a Timesheet
The "Enter Time" section of the gTimesheet website enables you to create and edit timesheets for submission to your supervisor. The website automates many aspects of time entry, and handles rounding of hours, totaling of time entered, etc. All you need to do is select the week the timesheet is for, and then enter your start and end times, along with your lunch break duration, for each day of that week.
Step 1 - Select your Assignment (optional)
If you are placed on multiple assignments through GoodTemps, gTimesheet will prompt you to select the assignment you want to create a timesheet for after you log in. If you are only placed on one active assignment, gTimesheet will automatically forward you to the time entry screen for that assignment.

Example: Assignment selection screen.
If you do not see the assignment that you were placed on, or if an assignment you are no longer working on is displayed, notify us immediately.
Step 2 - Creating a Timesheet

The Enter Time screen, where you create your timesheets.
The upper section of the Enter Time screen, Employee Information, contains details about the assignment. Below that, is the grid into which you enter your hours. The bottom section "Timesheets: In Process" lists a summary of all saved, submitted and approved timesheets, allowing you to monitor their progress.
To create a timesheet:
- Select the week that you want to create a timesheet for from the "Week Ending Date" drop down menu. The week ending date is the Friday of that week.

- For each day of the week, enter your "In" and "Out" time.
Absences / Days Off
If you did not work on a particular day, delete the In time for that day. gTimesheet will prompt for a reason.

gTimesheet will round the time you enter to a quarter-hour format for payroll processing.
- E.g., entering '805' for your In time will round to 8:00AM. Entering '537PM' for your Out time will round to 5:30PM.
- You can use military time (E.g.: 0900, 1745, etc ) or 12-hour notation (E.g.: 9AM, 545PM)
- From the Lunch drop down menu, select the duration of your lunch break for that day.

- Refer to your assignment package for the lunch policy rules for your placement, or ask your GoodTemps Placement Specialist.
- If you did not take a lunch break, select "None" from the list.
- If you did not work that day, select "#" from the list.
- Repeat the process for each day of the week until you have completed your timesheet.
Step 3 - Submitting your Timesheet to your Supervisor for Approval
In order to be processed by payroll, your timesheet must be submitted to, and approved by your on-site supervisor.
When you have finished entering your time and feel it is accurate:
- Click the "Submit" button.
- You will be alerted if the hours entered violate any of the assignment regulations, or state labor laws. The first prompt will provide a general reminder of the terms of the assignment's contract.

- The next prompt informs you which policies the timesheet violates, and gives you the option of continuing and submitting the timesheet for approval as is, or returning to the timesheet to make amendments.

- After submitting, a summary will appear.
Confirm that the hours are correct and that the timesheet you made is for the correct week before continuing.
- Clicking "Continue" will submit the timesheet to your supervisor.
- Clicking "Abort" will return you to the timesheet without submitting it.
- When your supervisor logs into the website, your submitted timesheet will be waiting for their approval.
Payroll Deadline
Your supervisor must approve your timesheet no later than the payroll deadline of 3:00PM on Monday. If Monday is a holiday, the deadline is extended to 12:00PM on Tuesday.
- Once your supervisor approves the submitted timesheet, it is automatically processed by GoodTemps.
- A summary of your submitted timesheet will be viewable in the Timesheets: In Process section.
Creating a Default Schedule
If you work regular hours each week, you can instruct gTimesheet to use those hours as the default schedule when you create a new timesheet, to avoid having to re-enter those hours each instance you make a timesheet.
- Enter your hours and lunch duration for each day of the week.
- Click the "Change Default Value" button.

- Whenever you create a new timesheet for this assignment in the future, gTimesheet will use the values you specified by default.
Saving a Timesheet
gTimesheet also allows you to save the progress you have made on a timesheet if you are not ready to submit it yet, enabling you to return to it and complete it at a later date. Saving a timesheet does not submit it to your supervisor for approval.
Go to the Saving a Timesheet topic.
Monitoring the Progress of your Timesheets
You can monitor the progress of your timesheets from the "Timesheets: In Process" summary list, available in the Enter Time section of the website. The summary list shows which timesheets you have submitted, and those that have been approved by your supervisor, etc.
Timesheet Status Types
- Saved: An unfinished timesheet you have saved for later completion. A saved timesheet is stored in your account, it is not submitted to your supervisor.
- Submitted: A timesheet you have completed and submitted to your supervisor, and which is awaiting his/her approval.
- Approved: A timesheet that has been reviewed and approved by your supervisor, and received by GoodTemps for processing.
- Rejected: A timesheet that your supervisor has deemed unsatisfactory and returned to you.
